Daniel Announces Support for Round Rock Campus of Texas A&M Health Science Center
Georgetown, Texas – Today Bryan Daniel, candidate for District 52 State Representative, announced his full support for the future permanent site of the Texas A&M Health Science Center campus in Round Rock. The plans for the proposed campus moved forward great strides last Friday when the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents accepted a 15-acre land donation from the Avery family of Round Rock.
“The prospect of a Health Science Center campus in Round Rock is very exciting for Round Rock and all of Williamson County,” Daniel said. “This addition will not only provide residents with better access to healthcare, but will also help alleviate skyrocketing healthcare costs facing taxpayers,” he continued.
Initial plans for the development include administration and educational buildings, but in the long term Texas A&M hopes to create a full four-year medical school in Round Rock. The proposed campus is located west of FM 1460 and south of CR 112.
“The fact that a top tier institution such as Texas A&M University wants to expand into Round Rock speaks volumes about the positive growth all of our local communities currently enjoy. As state representative, I will work to foster opportunities such as the proposed Health Science Center, which will enhance our economy and improve our quality of life,” Daniel stated.
Daniel currently serves as Vice President and Board Member for Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance. In 2005, Daniel served on the planning committee for the Texas Entrepreneurship Summit, which was coordinated by Texas A&M. He and his wife, Tamara, have two daughters – Emily and Elizabeth. The Daniels are active in the community and attend the First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
